Public Education
In today's information age, educating the public
about drug abuse is of paramount importance to ensure
that people are presented with healthy life choices.
Public Education therefore can ensure such awareness by
reaching large and diverse groups of persons.
Aim
The Public Education strategy is aimed at
promoting public awareness on the hazards and
consequences of drug use/abuse and the alternative
lifestyles accessible to individuals vulnerable to
both legal and illegal drugs. This is done through:
- Lectures and workshops
- Two-way educational campaigns and
- Other communicative vehicles
Current
NADAPP engages in:
- Hosting radio and television programmes
- Conducting seasonal campaigns
Future Initiatives
NADAPP proposes to intensify its public
education thrust, more so during festive seasons, to
reduce the consumption of drugs through major festive
activities such as, Carnival, Easter, Arrival Day,
Borough Day celebrations and the like.
