Upcoming Research

The National Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Programme (NADAPP), in an effort to enhance its current database on the nature of the drug problem in Trinidad & Tobago, has commissioned nine research studies via The Central Tenders Board.

The objectives of these studies are to:

  • Enhance the National Drug Demand Reduction Strategy

  • Disseminate information to guide other agencies/organizations involved in Drug Demand Reduction

  • Enhance NADAPP's capacity to complete more comprehensively questionnaires for submission annually/biannually to regional and international agencies

  • Comply with Cabinet's mandate for NADAPP to establish and maintain a National/Centralized Database on Drug Demand Reduction

Areas of Studies (9)

  1. Survey of Chemically Dependent Persons in Treatment and Rehabilitation Centres in Trinidad & Tobago.

  2. Survey of Drug Users/Abusers (Offenders) in the Correctional Institutions of Trinidad & Tobago.

  3. Rapid Assessment Survey of Residents in Children's Homes in Trinidad and Tobago.

  4. Rapid Assessment Survey of Out-of-School Youths in Trinidad and Tobago.

  5. Study of Drug-Related Deaths at the Forensic Science Centre in Trinidad & Tobago.

  6. Study of the Correlation between the Use/Abuse of Alcohol and Other Drugs and the Incidence of Vehicular Accidents in Trinidad and Tobago.

  7. Rapid Assessment Survey of Primary School Students in Trinidad & Tobago.

  8. Survey of Students at Tertiary Institutions in Trinidad and Tobago.

  9. Rapid Assessment Survey of Residents in Trinidad and Tobago.
