Integrated Demand Reduction Project
Phase I
In 1989 a three (3) year Demand Reduction
Project Phase I funded mainly by the United Nations Drug
Control Programme (UNDCP) was initiated with the goal of
extending and integrating the National Drug Demand
Reduction Strategy.
The project resulted in the establishment of community
advisory leaders in drug abuse prevention, development of
community based activities, implementation of public
information programmes and establishment of a public
information resource centre.
Phase II
NADAPP, in the thrust to further its mandate, in
the 1990's was the beneficiary of a second European
Union/United Nations Development Control Programme
(UNDCP) funded initiative, the Demand Reduction Project
Phase II.
This project facilitated the putting in place of
several systems and mechanisms for the strengthening and
expanding of the Demand Reduction Programme in Trinidad
and Tobago, namely:
