The National Drug Council (NDC)

The National Drug Council (NDC) was established by Cabinet on July 5, 2000 under the purview of the Ministry of National Security. The Council serves as the coordinating, monitoring and evaluating body for the implementation of the National Drug Master Plan. The National Drug Council also serves as a conduit for interaction with the international community.

Strategic Services Agency (SSA)

The Strategic Services Agency (SSA) was established by Cabinet under the purview of the Ministry of National Security and has legislative Authority under Act No. 24 of 1995. The SSA is the central co-ordinating body for the dangerous drugs supply reduction programme

Counter Drug-Crime Task Force

The Counter Drug-Crime Task Force was established by Cabinet in 1997. Their mandate is to: Investigate, develop and prosecute major drug trafficking cases; Conduct financial investigations and prosecute individuals involved in money laundering; Conduct financial investigations into the assets of individuals charges with money laundering offences and specified offences; Extradition; Mutual Legal Assistance

Organized Crime and Narcotics Unit

The Organized Crime and Narcotics Unit, (OCNU) is one of the specialized units of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service. Its primary function is to eradicate the illegal supply, trade distribution and use of Dangerous Drugs, Psychotropic substances and precursor chemicals
