NADAPP's Organisational Structure & Links
NADAPP operates
under a three tier system:
- The Inter Ministerial Committee is a body
comprising Cabinet Ministers responsible for:
- Social Development
- Community Development & Gender Affairs
- Education
- Health
- Culture & Tourism
- Sport and Youth Affairs
- National Society
This committee has overall responsibility for
establishing government policies and setting the
direction of the programme.
- The National Alcohol and Drug Abuse Coordinating
Council (NADACC) is responsible for developing,
monitoring and overseeing the implementation of the
National Drug Demand Reduction Strategy. This Council
meets at least once per month and comprises experts
representing the following elements of the
programme:
- Research
- Public Information and Education
- School Prevention
- Treatment and Rehabilitation
- Community Prevention
- Legislation
- Employee Assistance
- The NADAPP Secretariat
is the operational arm and is responsible for
co-ordination and implementation of the programme. The
Secretariat reports to NADACC and the Office of the
Prime Minister (Social Services Delivery).
